Statement
My work aims to provide an introspective yet sometimes intrusive look into the individual. I draw on personal experiences and perspectives, hoping that the viewer can recognise parts of themselves within the work.
I explore self-portraiture and the human form, often intertwined with elements of philosophical ideas relating to ‘the self’ and feminism. Themes of intimacy and confrontation act as a foundation throughout my work.
Primarily working with oil paint, my paintings aim to maintain a level of realism whilst using light touches of symbolism, colour and different opacity to aid the narratives of each piece.
