Eve Dobel (b.1999) is a fine artist from and based in London.

Exploring both the physicality of emotion and the relationship between the mind and body, through self-portraiture and the human form. Providing an introspective yet sometimes intrusive look into the individual. Often drawing on personal experiences and perspectives, she hopes her work can create a space for the viewer to recognise parts of themself within the work.

Working primarily with oil paint, Eve’s use of a naturalistic, fleshy, earth toned palette is intentional, aiming to maintain a level of realism that stays faithful to her aim of establishing a grounded mind-body connection.

The process often begins with intuitive underpainting, which are gradually developed in oil through a process of concealment and light abstraction. Producing images that seek to play with the visual tension through chiaroscuro and varied application styles, aiding the metaphorical narrative of the pieces.
